How To Get Involved

VolunteeringVolunteering

You are invited to get involved with the Million Trees Program and help us achieve our vision of three million seedlings planted by 2014. By helping as a volunteer you can make a valuable contribution to the program’s success by increasing the amount of work we can accomplish or by raising greater awareness and support.  And by becoming a volunteer you have an opportunity to help make a real difference to the health and future of our local flora and fauna.

Our volunteers comprise people of all ages, cultural backgrounds and professions. Whatever time you can give will be appreciated, whether it is regular time during the year or only a few hours in one day.

There are lots of exciting ways you can contribute to the conservation of Adelaide’s unique flora and fauna so please read on and consider how you might be able to help.

Join Our Mailing List

Want to hear about exciting conservation projects throughout the year? Join our mailing list to become a Friend of the Urban Forest and we will keep you informed during the year about our volunteering activities and events. We are a funded program so we will not be asking you for any money donations and you can be assured that we will only use your information to keep you informed about local conservation activities and opportunities to get involved.

Attend An Event

Want to come along to a planting day or conservation event? During the year there are opportunities for volunteers to help at events held at various sites across Adelaide. You can attend as an individual, with friends or family, or possibly get your workplace involved.  Click on the link to see what is coming up..... Please click here to see upcoming events

Spread The Word

Increasing the awareness of our activities with friends and family can help. By increasing the number of people who are aware of the Program, the greater the chance of more people becoming involved or supporting our vision for a cleaner, greener Adelaide. So talk to people about how they can help and tell them to check out this website.

Create a Backyard for Wildlife

Don't have time to volunteer? We understand that a lot of people may find it difficult to volunteer at a community planting site.  But if you have a garden then you can still contribute to a cleaner and greener Adelaide.  Please check out the five basic principles of a Backyard for Wildlife and find out how easy it is to turn your garden area into a wildlife friendly habitat.
